That depends where you are based. Give us a call on free phone 0508 243 629 and we will advise you of businesses in your local area who are already proud Propress owners.
Well this depends on what model of fabric steamer you purchase, and how you use it. The PRO290 Propress Professional Steamer has about 70 minutes of continuous steam, the PRO580 Propress Professional Steamer has about 125 mins of continuous steam. To put this in context, once you are used to steaming, a T-shirt might take 30 seconds to steam, a wedding dress 5 minutes. That’s a lot of steamed clothes! The other factor is how you use it; the PRO580 steamer has a standby feature, this means that if you are interrupted while steaming, you can put the machine on standby and it will keep the water just below steaming temperature until you need to use it again. That 125 minutes could last you all day if you are busy enough! The standby feature means that no steam is wasted – saving you time and money.
Propress steamers are built to last! The stainless steel boiler in each machine comes with a ten year guarantee and it is not unusual to get requests to repair machines that are 20 years old (or older!). Even in a very heavy usage environment (like a charity shop) we would estimate their lifespan to be approximately 10 years plus. The better you take care of your garment steamer the longer it will last. We recommend regular rinsing out and descaling of the tank and making sure that basic safety rules are followed (e.g. don’t pull the machine around by its cable!) but your fabric steamer should last for years and years. If you do encounter any problems with your garment steamer we are here to help and can offer servicing, replacement parts, or just advice, if that is what’s needed to get you up and steaming clothes or curtains again. We have been making fabric steamers for over 35 years and have hundreds of thousands of happy users, why not join them?
Given the long lifespan of a Propress Steamer, it is a reasonable question. There are commercial steamers out there that outlast the businesses that purchase them. Often clothes or curtain steamers are sold on as part of a shops fixtures and fittings when someone purchases a property. Propress Steamers do occasionally have reconditioned garment steamers available. Our reputation for reliability means that we can only pick the best 2nd hand fabric steamers to recondition – usually these are ex-hire steamer machines, ex-showroom steamer models or steamer machines that have been used infrequently for exhibition or promotional purposes. We do not buy second hand steamers from customers, nor do we offer part exchanges on old machines.
